11-6-25   THOUGHTS

Thanksgiving Day is approaching.  This short psalm reminds us that giving thanks to God is not a seasonal matter.  We are forever in the sunshine of His love.  The psalm  reminds us that our giving thanks to our God is to be more than lip service.  “2  Serve the LORD with gladness; Come before Him with joyful singing”, describe our behavior.  “Knowing that the LORD Himself is God,” supplies our foundation for life! How marvelously conceived is that foundation.  Let’s each think on the things of thankfulness,  always.  

Ps 100:1-5    Shout joyfully to the LORD, all the earth.  2  Serve the LORD with gladness; Come before Him with joyful singing. 3  Know that the LORD Himself is God; It is He who has made us, and not we ourselves; We are His people and the sheep of His pasture. 4  Enter His gates with thanksgiving And His courts with praise. Give thanks to Him, bless His name. 5  For the LORD is good; His lovingkindness is everlasting And His faithfulness to all generations.

Our Prayer:
How wonderful to be the sheep of Your pasture.  Help us to serve You with gladness and come before You with joyful singing.   You have made our lives a reason to rejoice, not in sitting, but in serving.  Teach us the pleasure in giving and loving.  Help us to shout joyfully that “Our Lord, He is God!”  Help us to be the blessing that shows Your image to our world.  In Jesus’ name, Amen.
